Filling an open ERG leader role is about more than finding someone who is passionate. The best ERG leaders have a specific mix of skills, capacity, and credibility. Getting the fit right is one of the highest-leverage decisions an ERG program manager can make.

Define the Role Before You Recruit

Too many ERG leader roles are vague: "lead the ERG." That is not enough. A strong role description should include:
