Takeda Reflects on National Hispanic Heritage Month with Events They Have Done in the Past

"A number of our employees also have served as mentors to high school students through the Illinois Science & Technology Institute which encourages careers in science, technology, engineering and math fields (STEM). Takeda employees have served as volunteer mentors for various Chicago area public High Schools and among those schools we identified schools that serve a predominately Hispanic neighborhood such as Solorio Academy, Waukegan, Phoenix Military Academy and David Speer Academy. As a Latina scientist, I know the importance of exposing students early to STEM careers and Latinos are among the most underrepresented in this area.

We also expanded our Hispanic community partnership to include membership with the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE), a national non-profit dedicated to the employment, development and advancement of current and aspiring Latino professionals."
