"Collaboration over competition! Great things happen when we can all come together. Nine black employee resource groups (ERGs) from across several industries (Asurion, Microsoft, Nike, LinkedIn, Samsung Electronics, Sodexo, State Farm ®, Verizon, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts) came together to form the Black Employee Resource Groups (BERG) Consortium. Over the past 3 months, I've had the pleasure of working alongside other BERG leaders as we collectively planned a multi-company #Juneteenth celebration titled “The Freedom of Wellness”. Last week, we virtually hosted 3 impactful events in one day!
We kicked off the day with our morning session “Start Your Day the Right Way” with co-hosts Sean Wiggins CRME CHIA CHA Director of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and Desmond Fannin of Sodexo providing us with cooking tips as Executive Chef Greenridge of Wyndham gave a savory cooking demonstration that left us all wanting more.
On behalf of @Verizon BOLD ERG, I moderated the afternoon session “Let’s Talk Money”, with the very knowledgeable State Farm Agent Natalie Reid as she stressed the importance of having a “money team” that includes your CPA, Attorney, and Insurance agent."
