"Leadership matters! Social impact leadership matters even more!
As an African American female, a proud mother of two, Executive sponsor for Johnson Controls African American Business Resource Group ( Onyx), Member of Habitat for Humanity Development Committee and a proud Johnson Controls employee, today was significant in many respects:1) I was honored to participate in the home dedication for a mother celebrating with her the dream of affordable housing and first time home-ownership in Milwaukee very economically challenged community. 2) I was part of something greater than individuals; solving one step at the time home access disparity in Milwaukee 3) I got touched by her gratitude and the long term collective social impact 4) I witnessed a great Mother’s Day present for the less fortunate- A brand new home !
As we dedicated this home, I reflected on my “ Whys”, I could not help being grateful and proud to work for a humane leader and a company who cares about “ Opening doors” to the less fortunate and giving back to the community"
