Jessyca Moderates First Ever Black History Month Panel at Gucci

"I spent the last day of Black History Month moderating the first ever Black History Month panel at Gucci: The Power and History of African American Culture in Fashion.

In the midst of my anxiety, I thought about how proud my grandparents would be of me and how I wish they were still here. I thought of the conversation I had with my parents the night before, my friends who were rooting for me across the country and all the prayers lifted up on my behalf.

What I mediated on most was how proud I am to play a part in cultural celebration, awareness and inclusivity. I look forward to more dialogue and celebrating Blackness err day."
