American Airlines Black Professional Network Hosts Fireside Chat

"HerStory is the continuation of the legacy of aviatrix Bessie Coleman. Her Great Niece Gigi Coleman Brooms and Dr. Sheila Chamberlain of the Bessie Coleman Aviation All-Stars have picked up where Bessie left off to make aviation accessible to youth. Since 2021 they have been on a commemorative tour of 10 cities that represent the locations Bessie toured starting with Osh Kosh on the 100th anniversary.

American Airlines Black Professional Network an Employee Business Resource Group at American Airlines along with Captain Beth Powell and colleagues Sarah Fullhart Troeger and katherina Garza of the Professional Women in Avition were honored to host these women in a fireside chat. We had a chance to see the 1 Woman Show performed by Gigi, chat with Ventris Gibson the first Black female Director of the United States Mint introduced the first American Women’s Quarter for 2023 featuring Queen Bess herself, and the beautiful young ladies from Rock-T Youth Foundation, Incorporated Stomp Wars performed a step show for us.
